Sea Floor or Ocean Floor is generally not a habitat for sea animals barring bio-organisms and deep water plants. When it comes to which animals live on sea floor, as such, there are no animals that live permanently on sea floor except that the sea animals pass through the sea floor during their locomotion.

Besides, there are thousands of species of plants such as algae on the sea floor or continental shelf, which is the right technical term. Moreover, small organisms of the likes flat-worms are found in abundance at the sea floor. The real sea floor in many regions all over the world, very deep sea beyond 10,000 feet, is yet to be explored fully by humans.

Sea Otter, widely known as extinct sea animal, is perhaps one of the most hunted sea animals that has become almost extinct due to large scale hunting by humans for its soft, thick and lustrous fur. Despite it being given a protection under the International Treaties way back in 1991, large populations of Sea Otters have been wiped out from the Pacific Ocean and Bering Sea. Some of the extinct sea animals include Caribbean Monk Sea, Sei Whale, Blue Whale, Atlantic Salmon, Stellers Sea Cow, Chinese River Dolphin, Manatees, Sea Monster, and Sea Scorpion, among many others.
